that's the skin's file, you can find many pics in it.


1. Change the pics of cool skin, keep name & size the same.

eg, change the new post pic.
the cool's new post pic 'newtopic' is:
and i create a pic instead of the cool's 'newtopic' pic: , remember also named it 'newtopic'.

Note: keep pics' names the same, and also the size of the pics (the size can be a little changed,but dont change much) & name the skin file()


2. Upload the skin file (not rar,just the file include all pics of skin) to your free webspace.

for example: I create a skin named 'skin1' already, and i wanner upload it to the webspace now .

                 ① Go to your webspace, in the Root, create one file, named skin1, submit then:

                             
                                        Note: Create the file in your webspace's Root.      
            
                      ok now, look at the below pic.
               

                  ② Click in the webspace skin1 file, upload all the pics in the skin1 file on your PC.

3 .Admin CP. --> Forums --> Skins --> add a new one . put the name in first, then submit.

                     

4. Edit the skin1's detail to edit the skin.

    Forum Logo {BOARDIMG},{BOARDLOGO}:  put the logo's name of your skin. my skin1's logo name is logo.jpg, so i put the logo.jpg in this textboard.

    Image Directory {IMGDIR}:  put the url of the skin in your space ,as my webspace url is: http://ann1.91.tc, and my skin file name is skin1, and i have upload it in my webspace root file, so then 'Image Directory' is: http://ann1.91.tc/skin1/.

    Smilies Directory {SMDIR}: images/smilies   (dont modify it).
     
    The others you can modify it to what you want.  (Sample for reference, download the attachment)

you can register a webspace from other webspace hosting sites .

'root' just means you upload the file into the webspace in the first directory, not under other files. get it?

I am confused on this as well, I don't understand what a "Root" is, and where it is on my forum...

maybe you r not very clearly about that.

first, you must find a webspace for uploading the skin's file, know what is a webspace? you can upload files, pics and others to that space, and some space also can use FTP to upload the files.

then if you find a webspace, then upload the skin file to it.
and then do what i have told you in the first post.
