about pressing on "thanks"

i see in another forum , under the post , they require the viewer press on "thanks"  . I don't know how to do that in posts  in my forum. please help me.

go on » Admin CP.» Posts» »Edit Smilies,now u can c Edit Smilies option,put this code  -:thanks:-  in (Smilies Code) and press at thanks gif on ur right mouse and take copy image location and  paste in Smilies Filename ,submit
